hey everyone! Someone just recommended this group to me and I joined right away with a question!

My mom was describing to me a mystery/thriller that she read in the early 1980s (between 1980 and 1982). The basic plot is that a mentally damaged man snaps and kills his (abusive) mother. He then goes across the country stealing people's identities and killing women in whom he sees his mother - basically killing his mother over and over again. My mom recalls (although she may be incorrect on this one) that the muder weapon was a stiletto. She would have sworn that the book was called "Stiletto," but since we can't find it anywhere, that is obviously not the title.

I'm dying to read this story and we just can't find it. It was probably published in the 70s or early 80s. I doubt in the 60s, but who knows. Has anyone read or heard of this book and knows what the title is/who the author is/where to find it?

This is a book I read sometime during the early-mid '90s. It was a weird sort-of horror/thriller set in LA and the main thing I remember was a child star from the '30s/'40s named Boofles or Booflz who I think was dead, possibly haunting a place. Boofles was an adorable little boy with, as I recall, curly blonde hair who turns out to be some kind of evil spirit--I think he might've been murdered. Someone (a man?) was investigating the haunting or at any rate discovered he could somehow enter Boofles's world by going through the mirror--I seem to remember there was an Alice Through the Looking Glass sort of them, or it was referenced. The mirror-world is completely freaky (evil). Also, I remember the word "glitterati" was used a couple of times because I picked up the word and my Mom commented on it. (The weird story was set against the glittering movie industry.)

If you could create your own pokemon and its sort like water,electric,ghost,grass,fire,flying and if you could create your own pokeball and colors for it and give your newly created pokemon a name what would all of it be?

I recently realised what a mess my downloads folder was and deleted a good chunk of it out of frustration. Now I'm building it back (in a much, much more organised way), and I need a mesh that I deleted (along with my entire Hair folder).

I'm looking for the mesh that goes with this hair. I can't seem to find it on the new Newsea blog (which is hard for me to navigate anyway), and since I'm pretty sure it was a free hair it's not on Simscave or The Booty. That link says it's #15, but the Piggy hair's mesh is 15... so I'm not really sure what the mesh is actually called and can't help you there.

So, basically, if anyone could upload the mesh for me or point me in its general direction I would be ETERNALLY grateful! :)

Hi everyone, I'm hoping I can get a little boost. A little while ago I lost my Pearl cartridge, which was the cart I had completed and was pulling together my collection on. So all my trained, and bred pokemon, random mystery eggs, and all the pokemon I got from giveaways here are gone, ditto the master balls, TMs... baah ::mopes::

It was a pretty decent collection, too :( only had a few empty spots on the National Dex, due to laziness.

I've been tempted to buy an Xbox 360 for some time now but I'm a little bit worried because many people have told me the Xbox 360 has a lot of problems and although I really want to get my hands on one, I don't think shelling out $449 for one would be worth it if it's just going to break.

How often do problems occur with the Xbox 360? I've heard of discs being scratched, overheating, red ring of death etc. Is there anything I could do to ensure that these problems don't happen? I've heard NOT having Xbox 360 standing vertical will stop discs being scratched - is that true?

Has anyone had problems with their Xbox 360? And do you think it would be worth buying one? (I'd be getting an Elite and the price for one at the moment is $449 although I might wait and see if the price drops).

I already have a PS3 and a Wii. I want the Xbox 360 because there are a few exclusive games I want to play (mainly Fable 2). I was told that I could get a gaming PC instead of an Xbox 360 because most games are on PC as well but that it would cost around $1500 for a decent one... and I don't want to pay that much :(

Okay, I've never actually read this book so this might be difficult. It's a guide to writing fantasy fiction, and it's got a title like "The Dangerous Guide to Writing Fantasy" or "The Perilous Guide to Writing Fantasy." Or maybe something involving treachery? Or dirt? It was more evocative than just the basic "Writer's Guide to Fantasy" sort of thing. I could have sworn that it was written by Diane Duane, but according to all the lists of books she's written it wasn't her, so the author (definitely a woman) either has a name that sounds kind of like "Diane Duane" or writes YA fantasy like Duane does. Or maybe both. It's fairly well-known, but I can't seem to hit on anything Google-able. Thanks for any help!

Anyways, I was wondering if there's any particular attack move that can ignore the effects of Endure. I was trying to complete the Exact-turn Knockout Challenge at Mr. Backlot's mansion today and had to reset almost a dozen times because all of the freaking Clefairies know that move. I just want to get to the Blissey at the end and move on, dangit. Dx

Does anyone know? I can't think of any attacks that would work like that. Smogon says that using Endure, Protect, or Detect successfully on the previous turn MIGHT mean that using the move won't work, but this challenge doesn't really allow for any turns to be wasted by hoping for that to happen. And I've gotta say, if I have to keep resetting just to finish the challenge every day, I'd prefer to just go elsewhere for training and earning money. :/

So is that what I'm likely going to have to do? Or am I missing something I could use against them?
